Biography

Chetanaa was born in Germany. Having learned about classical music, she turned to more modern music in the mid seventies and has stayed connected since. She traveled extensively in many countries appreciating the music of those cultures. For the past 20 years she has lived in Hawaii where music is highly celebrated. Hawaii offers not only traditional Hawaiian music, but many crossovers. This has put her in a privilegeous position as she seats at the cross roads of world cultures and musical inspirations. She is now ready to put her foot prints in the music industry. By starting United Globe Music Chetanaa hopes to bring to the world the kind of music that has a positive impact on the recipient. “ I see my purpose as facilitating music for higher consciousness.” Chetanaa is a people oriented person who enjoys to have associations with people from different walks of life. Hence her orientation towards artistry that is at the service of the people. Her hobbies include dance, holistic health, children, real estate, time in nature, good conversations, scoping out new talents.

Biography

Lucien Kouassi, a.k.a. Jamallad is a proponent of the globalization of the human culture. Jamallad is the beneficiary of several cultures which explains the mastery of the different genres that make up the band’s repertoire. Jamallad has the genius of nicely blending on one single album genres such as his native West African rhythms; Funk, Soukouss, Folk, Rock n’ Roll, Reggae, Club Dance music, a cross between folk and tribal African rhythm, and Pop due to his many years of classical music training, and finger picking acoustic folk styles. All these styles are presented in a pleasant, sweet, simple and yet effective arrangement due to Jamallad’s understanding of western musical composition theory. Jamallad has a freshness that is very refreshing. This is a truly international artist singing in several languages; French, English, Baoule, Spanish, and five other African languages. This ensures that the message is equally accessible to a greater number of world citizens. This is a band that appeals not only to the yough which comprises the majority of their audience, but to their parents as well. This is an all age band for their message is universal and transcends national boundaries. Hailing from his native Ivory coast, West Africa, Jamallad set out along a musical and educational trail that led him to perform across West Africa, Europe, and for the last two decades, extensively the East and West coasts of the United States of America. His musical experience started first as an acoustic folk and classical guitarist, then turned toward his African roots and reggae, but for the talented, literate musician, Rock, Pop, Funk and their derivatives come as natural extensions. These styles are but the envelope in which a healthy message is delivered, for the audience’s listening pleasure, while enticing them to think and feel.
